Gymnosomata, commonly known as Sea Angels. An apt name- the sea angels are the ethereal, translucent, fluttering angels of the sea.

In hard scientific terms, they’re small swimming sea slugs, but we’ll pass over that for now and just admire how delicately beautiful these wonderful creatures are.

Son killed his father then sliced his face off and dressed as his dad to go see his grandfather. The grandfather talked with him for a while before he finally realized something was up and called the cops to go over to the father and son’s home.

98 year old dobri dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war, walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.

though a well known fixture around several of the city’s churches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living instead off his monthly state pension of 80 euros.

This guy is so… awesome. Amazing. Inspiring.

Awkward. Dr. Seuss and his wife were really liberal and pro-choice. They’ve even threatened to sue pro-life organizations for using this quote the wrong way (the way you’re doing it actually). I guess you didn’t already know that Horton Hears a Who is about the American occupation of Japan post-WWII. He even dedicated it to his dear Japanese friend.

Today 98 years ago (during World War I) the Ottoman Empire started to kill the Christians to clean up their country. In their highest councils Turkish leaders (Talaat Pascha) decided to exterminate every Armenian, Aramean/Assyrian, Greek and other Christians in the country, whether a front-line soldier or pregnant woman, famous professor, high bishop or important businessman.

I remember, when my dad told me, that his great-grandmother was tied to a stake, and was then burnt alive in front of their family.

We were treated like animals. We were tortured. They’ve cut out the babys, from pregnants and thrown them against walls. They’ve beheaded the men and boys,…I could go on but it’s really disgusting just thinking about it.

Everytime, when I see these photos, I start to cry and think: WHY? WHY did they do this, WHY can

We cannot push away tragedy, because it is too painful, and we cannot simply overlook the past, no matter how heartbreaking it may be. We must not allow tragedies to fade, but rather, keep them in mind.

Turkey doesn’t want to admit to what they have done. THEY DENY THEIR OWN HISTORY! But you know what was our biggest achievement? We’ve survived. We won’t give up till the entire world recognize it.

A PICTURE WALK THROUGH PHILADELPHIA’S MAGIC GARDENS

There’s nothing quite like Isaiah Zagar’s (award-winning mosaic mural artist) mosaic playground… last night I popped over to the Magic Gardens for Garden Sips - a great night out to support PMA’s annual Street Festival ART/GAGE: Celebrate Philly Creativity.

As the sun started going down, and the Garden lit up, I took the opportunity to take some great shots. Enjoy… And if you’re in Philly, make sure you stop by and experience the Gardens for yourself. Maybe even treat yourself to a Mosaic Mural Workshop with Isaiah himself.

Standing in the Athens police headquarters, interviewing the director of the drug unit, I realised I had a bag of chemically enhanced crystal meth in my pocket. I’d bought it the night before from a Greek homeless man and had forgotten to throw it away. After the interview, I stepped outside to smoke a cigarette, which is when some officers noticed the film crew I had brought along, who were recording from a distance.

Minutes later the cops dragged us into a holding room, the little packet of drugs still stuffed in my pants. They made some calls, glared at us and eventually, reluctantly, released us – without ever searching me, thankfully. On my way out, I threw the baggie into the first garbage can I passed.

Several Greek police stations have been firebombed in recent months, so the cops have reason to be nervous, especially when they notice that they are being filmed. On our first evening in Athens, a different group of officers approached us and, after spotting our film crew down the street, demanded to see our papers. They deleted our footage and detained us for a couple of hours, until we’d managed to get our passports delivered to the station. Greece is a paranoid place at the moment. The police, fascists, anarchists, dealers and drug users are all fighting for local supremacy and no one trusts anyone else.

The night before our close call at the Athens police headquarters, I was approached by a group of homeless people, one of whom was smoking some horrible-smelling stuff through what appeared to be a meth bowl made from an old lightbulb. Although I don’t speak Greek, I managed to let him know that I wanted to buy some of the drug, colloquially known as sisa. The homeless guy wandered off with my five-euro note, and afterward an old man grabbed my arm and shouted, “No, no take! Very bad.” I wasn’t going to smoke it, but I was very curious about Greece’s infamous new drug.
